Gold Greenfields – Wilson’s (Black Swan)

ASX HRZ:

The Wilson’s Prospect is a highly prospective gold target at Black Swan which presents several indicators for potential gold mineralisation including gold in soil anomaly, the discovery of numerous gold nuggets, gold bearing rock chips and reported gold in assays from previous drilling.

The Black Swan project has not previously been systematically evaluated for gold due to the historic nickel focus. Exploration works completed over 2024 identified several promising gold targets that have not previously been drill tested for gold mineralisation. Poseidon recently completed a number of soil sampling programs which identified four gold in soil anomalies across the tenement package. The strongest and most coherent of which is located at the Wilson’s Prospect, neighbouring the existing Black Swan nickel deposits and infrastructure. The gold anomaly at Wilson’s is approximately 2.5km by 1.5km in size, only limited on the southern margin due to the lack of sampling in areas where previous mining activity has disturbed the ground.

Black Swan Gold in Soil Anomalies

The Wilson’s anomaly trends north-west at a low angle to the geological strike transecting the mine sequence and is bounded to the east and west by interpreted structures. The soil anomaly peaks at 79ppb Au and encompasses an area where the previously reported gold nuggets, rock chip samples and anomalous drilling results are located1.

Drilling to date has focused on testing the basal contact of the Black Swan Komatiite for nickel mineralisation that is located on the western margin of the Wilson’s gold in soil anomaly. Only 5% of all historical drillhole samples were assayed for gold, thus much of the Wilson’s Prospect remains untested.
